Makeover in 20 Steps!
It is a fact of life: girls like to look good. “Good” is defined by the girl in question, but nonetheless, we feel empowered when we are fixed up like a polished gem. My friend and room mate had been kind enough to shed light on her make up process to achieve a glowing image.
Katie Williams before the makeover.
Here we have liquid foundation matching Katie’s skin color. These come in a large variety of shades to match each person’s unique skin tone.
Apply to the nose, chin, and cheeks. You don’t need a lot.
Now for powder foundation. Again, these come in a large variety of shades. Choose the color closest to your skin tone.
Apply to the general facial area, but avoid the eyes.
Find a nice color blush that will add a rosy color to your cheeks.
Apply to the apples of the cheeks (the fleshiest part) and blend. The blush should be most prominent in the center of the apples and fade as it extends to the rest of the cheeks.
For an evening look, Katie has chosen grays and dark browns to achieve a smokey look.
The eyeshadow should be darkest near the lashes, and lighter into the base of the eyelids.
Next, Katie uses “Brow Fix” to better define the shape of her eyebrows.
Next, she uses eye liner.
To achieve a classic look, she uses the liner to draw wings atop her eyelids. This is the trickiest part.
Now apply the mascara.
Next, she uses a dark lipstick for the evening hours. She uses pastel pink shades earlier in the day.
Finally, she uses a glaze to add more color to her cheeks. Use conservatively.
Now blend until it seamlessly transitions into the blush used earlier.
Now she’s ready for a night out!
